“EKO” thrives by embracing experiences in the outdoors for various purposes, exploring concepts, ideas and practices in the process. This unending journeying has seen “EKO” continue to try out new ideas on a regular basis – the latest additions being consultancy for Standard ISO 21101:2014 for adventure tourism, and our principal resource person getting qualified to teach internationally recognised wilderness first aid courses. The functioning of “EKO” can be broadly categorized as follows:

Shantanu Pandit
Founder of ‘EKO’, Shantanu is a facilitator of experiential learning programmes, outdoor educator and consultant to outdoors based organisations.
After a short post-M.B.A. stint in a few organisations, in 1989 Shantanu shifted to spending time in the outdoors. He went on to co-found a public trust for providing outdoor education to children and an adventure company called ‘Countryside’ specializing in Himalayan adventure travel. He qualified as an Instructor in the year 2000 with The National Outdoor Leadership School in the U.S.A. (NOLS) where he has been teaching outdoor leadership and risk management. Shantanu’s extensive experience in behavioral interventions, outdoor leadership and organisational functioning has enabled him to undertake various pioneering assignments in the fields of programme review, risk management and consultancy in safety management. The latest additions to this sort of exploration are qualification in teaching internationally recognised wilderness first aid courses and consultancy services for certification for Standard ISO 21101:2014 for adventure tourism. Shantanu also effectively networks with other organisations to extend his areas of functioning. This sees him function as outdoor education consultant for Hanifl Centre, Woodstock School, Mussorie.
