After a short post-M.B.A. stint in a few organisations, in 1989 Shantanu shifted to spending time in the outdoors. He went on to co-found a public trust for providing outdoor education to children and an adventure company called ‘Countryside’ specializing in Himalayan adventure travel. He qualified as an Instructor in the year 2000 with The National Outdoor Leadership School in the U.S.A. (NOLS) where he has been teaching outdoor leadership and risk management.

The latest additions to this sort of exploration are qualification in teaching internationally recognised wilderness first aid courses and consultancy services for certification for Standard ISO 21101:2014 for adventure tourism.
Shantanu also effectively networks with other organisations to extend his areas of functioning. This sees him function as outdoor education consultant for Hanifl Centre, Woodstock School, Mussorie.
For an exciting once-in-a-lifetime programme that he helped design, see Outbound Training Programme with Bajaj Finance Team.
All throughout, Shantanu’s passion has seen him continue to enjoy the outdoors through personal trips involving hiking, rock climbing, peak climbing, and river rafting and kayaking.
